Born in 1939, in Dainiūnkai village in Biržai district. A selftaught wood-carver. In 1967, studied Lithuanian language and literature at Vilnius University, and later - journalism. ln 1967, joined the Folk Art Society. Creates bas-relief, high relief, various decorative sculptures, walking sticks, masks. Has participated in various exhibitions and symposia. Having discovered an abandoned house in the cen, tre of the city of Biri,ai, repaired it and placed his woodcarvings there. It is now a workshop and a small museum for the works that the folk artist and his son have created.
