He was born on 11 May 1967, in felgava (Latvia). He was educated at the Nr. 2 Secondary School in Jelgava, at Nr. 17 Vocational Technical Secondary School (as an artistic furniture carpenter) in Riga, and has completed distancelearning courses in design. He has worked as a furniture carpenter in different companies: AS Stafgene, AS Jelgavas Mills (from 1992 to 1996), at Egra trans Ltd. from 1996 to 2002, and at Jonstance ARMS Ltd. In 2002. At AS Jelgavas Mills, he also worked as a manager (from 1994 to 1996), but most of his work there was related to furniture production. At present, Dainis is self-employed, and has his own joinery. Dainis intends to work in the craft centre Jaunlidumi. He has made basketball trophies. His hobbies include working with wood, working as an event sound technician and managing events, and enjoys sport.
