Normunds Stenkevics graduated from the College of Applied Arts in Liepaja. While working at the Tērvete Nature Park, he focused on wood-carving. His wooden works bring out a certain emotion and tell a little story about each character's life. His Family of Mushrooms is so diverse and emotional - the mushrooms are joyful and ill-tempered, thoughtful and cheerful. Working in the park for more than 10 years, Normunds Stenkevics has created a great number of wooden sculptures, for example, fairy-tale heroes, animals, birds, and insects. Normunds Stenkevics was an active participant in the 2008 Semigalian Festival in Tervete, demonstrating carving of wooden sculptures along with other wood-carvers from Latvia and Lithuania.
